Established with the efforts of the members of the faculty and the student body to provide qualitative legal education and the legal fraternity constantly reviews its standards of academic requirements.
Situated in the upscale and secure University Town area on the upmarket Park Road, the Institute of Legal Studies ((TILS) – Peshawar Campus) is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s only Recognised Teaching Centre of the University of London. It is approved to offer the University of London LLB (Hons) and CertHe Leading to LLB (Hons) University of London and has the unique distinction of being recognized to offer the University of London degrees in its very first year of operations.
The campus contains large spacious classrooms, seminar rooms and a fully stocked library containing not only all the approved books and journals required by the University for the smooth delivery of the Programmes, but additional texts for further study and research all geared towards the study of law. This is complimented by a wide variety of case reports and law journals together with a computer lab in the library to advance online legal research. We pride ourselves on being a specialized law school dedicated to only offering and concentrating on the study of law. Furthermore, students can relax in the big airy common room or enjoy various sports and extra-curricular activities in the sprawling college grounds.
Our full time, foreign qualified faculty with years of specialist experience in the delivery of the University of London law programmes is distinct from other institutions by their accessibility and availability to students at all times without any formalities required.
Annual Legal Research Poster Series
Students from TILS and other visiting schools are given a current important issue that they research and showcase via a Poster and present to a panel of judges. It takes place every January and contributes to enhancing the presenting and researching skills of students.
Debates, Moots and Model United Nations
TILS has a very active Law Society, which both organizes debates and law moots on campus and also encourages students to participate actively in moots, debates and Model United Nations at other forums as well, both national and international. Our teams have competed and made us proud at various national and international forums such as Jean Pictet, Henry Dunant etc.
The Annual Matriculation and Farewell/High Achievement Awards Ceremonies in conjunction with University of London.
New students are officially welcomed and inducted in the rolls of TILS at the Welcome held in October. It is also the first chance for them to mingle with their seniors.
The outgoing class is officially bid farewell at the Farewell Ceremony by the student body as well as the faculty, a bittersweet moment in our extracurricular calendar.
The Institute of Legal Studies (TILS) gives students opportunities to transform their visions into reality. As a result, they develop the intellectual, professional and social characteristics that will support a life of personal achievement and social responsibility.
TILS welcomes a diversity of people and perspectives to a campus that promotes close interactions and respect for individuals. The students of TILS – and its graduates – are characterized by their determination to make a difference.
